MARTHA
Tess? Wolfi was here. He’s coming back. He’s chasing Marco!
TESS
My grandson!
MARTHA
Yes, you know, the one who can’t cook.
TESS
You mean Isabella. She can’t cook.
ISABELLA
I can learn! Marco and I want to marry!
TESS
My Marco ate a sandwich just the other day—which he made himself.
MARTHA
Your Marco eats my Isabella’s dirt.
TESS
That’s because dirt is the only thing your Isabella can make!
MARTHA
Isabella—go into the closet.
ISABELLA
(Screams.)
The closet!
Isabella goes in and slams the door.
MARTHA
Your Marco couldn’t cook his way out of an amateur cookie-baking contest.
TESS
Your Isabella couldn’t open a Pillsbury can to cut the cookie dough for the same contest.
The two grandmothers rush at each other. Martha locks Tess in a half nelson on the floor. Stenterello tries pulling the two apart. The closet door opens. Isabella looks at the scuffle, shrugs, and then joins them on the floor, rolling around, trying to break the two grandmothers apart.
